Our Klee Kai, Rx, is a year old. He is a wonderful dog but he really only wants to be with me and not my husband or son. However, he chooses my husband over me at dinner time because my husband has been giving him snacks of the meat from his plate. The funny thing is, these snacks don't change Rx's attitude towards my husband. My husband can't pet him or get near him unless my husband is eating. Then Rx won't leave his side. Do you think this will ever change?

I am new to this breed and not well educated yet, but I beleve it's very common in smaller companion dogs to attatch to one member of the household more than the rest. Perhaps it has to do with the attention he percieves your husband and son are taking from him. I had a pom that was that way.... I believe it's a jealousy thing. Try to do things together more with the pup to reassure him your family is not a threat to the relationship you and he share.
